Hungry whales roam
in
this cage.
Splatter, splatter

The fins run like a tremor beneath my eye
How the truth somehow escapes my clutch
or I its comprehension

Ring a dagger through my waters
Watch my legs collapse and fold
An octopus of the blindfolded sisters

My white skin, chapped and shredding
Sugar crumbs in their buoyant crawl
Hold thy breath
Hold thy breath
the dawn will lock in when winter falls
